The list of events confirms that the BRICS summit will not be shifted out of Goa. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar was quoted as saying that Goa is gearing up to host the 8th edition of the annual event denying reports that it has been shifted to another venue.

Goa Police have already begun chalking out plans to ensure there is no compromise on security and vehicular traffic flow during the period. Parsekar also assured of world class facilities at the Dabolim airport after Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar expressed concern over poor facilities.
