The Shanghai Summer School (BRICS Program) 2026 by Fudan University aims to provide students and young researchers from BRICS countries an opportunity to better understand BRICS, China, Shanghai and Fudan University.

Introduction to the Curriculum

The program provides the participants with three weeks lectures, consisting of two modules: "BRICS Cooperation and Global Governance" and "Happy in Shanghai", among which "BRICS Cooperation and Global Governance" takes 3 credits.

Time and Place

Duration: July 11 – 31, 2026

Place: Handan Campus, Fudan University

*July 11–12 is the registration period for Shanghai Summer School, with July 13 being the official start date. Dormitories will open on July 11.

Candidates and Tuition

Candidates: Undergraduates, graduates or research fellows.

Enrollment Candidates Amount Financial Categories Eligibility
40 candidates 20 Sponsored by the BRICS Program including tuition, insurance fee and accommodation fee. Undergraduate, graduate or research fellows under 40 years old (born after Jan. 1 1986) with BRICS nationality, who are not enrolled in any Chinese universities or institutions.
20 Self-financing for all items. Undergraduate, graduate or research fellows.

Accommodation fee Based on the availability and conditions of the school dormitories.

* 11610 RMB/student (10% off) for students officially nominated by Center for BRICS Studies of FDDI's partners.

Notice

1. The allocation of rooms depends on the available rooms provided by International Students Office.

2. Self-financing events on the schedule are not included in tuition.

3. For all students:Round trip tickets between your country and China, Visa fee, meals and other personal costs should be paid by yourself.

  · A completed application form

  · At least one letter of recommendation given by a professor or an associate professor

2. Application Entrance:

3. Application Period: Until 0:00 April 30th, 2026 (Beijing Time)

  The duration period for sending materials and recommending students by partner universities is until 0:00 April 30th, 2026 (Beijing Time).

4. Announcement Date: May 12th, 2026

  The admission name list for the scholarship students will be published on May 12th, 2026 through the BRICS Information Sharing & Exchanging Platform (www.brics-info.org) , Fudan Development Institute website(https://fddi.fudan.edu.cn/fddien) and our Facebook (FUDAN BRICS PROGRAM).

5. Students recommended by partner universities who are not selected as scholarship students, can contact us to be self-financing students without applying.
