Russian and Turkish Prime Ministers, Dmitry Medvedev and Binali Yildirim, discussed energy cooperation between the two countries, including the Turkish Stream project, the press service of the Russian government said on Thursday after a telephone conversation between the two heads of government.
“The sides discussed the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements reached during their talks in Moscow on December 6, 2016. The two prime ministers agreed to invigorate joint work on major energy projects, including the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the Turkish Stream gas pipeline,” the press service said. “In the context of expansion of trade and economic cooperation, the sides reiterated their plans to take concrete measures to simplify mutual access of their products to each other’s markets.”
Medvedev expressed his condolences over the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul. The sides stressed the importance of joining efforts to counter terrorist threats.
