Russia is interested in expanding the list of Russian regions for export of wheat, corn, rice, soybeans and colza to China, the Russian veterinary and phytosanitary regulator Rosselkhoznadzor said on Monday.

This issue was raised by Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Yulia Shvabauskene at the recent meeting of the Sino-Russian standing group on cooperation in animals and plants quarantine and food safety.

The parties agreed Russia will furnish materials required for analysis of phytosanitary risks by China. Furthermore, China’s AQSIQ regulator launched the process of granting access for the Russian barley to the Chinese market.

China is a highly promising market for Russian products, Russian Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev said earlier.
