A high level of cooperation between Russia and China is important to maintain a just and balanced world order, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said at Russian-Chinese consultations on strategic stability issues.

“We have been able to reach an unprecedentedly high level of interaction between Russia and China in all spheres,” Patrushev said.

“It’s important not only for development of our relations, but also for maintenance of a just, balanced world order based on observation of international law and territorial integrity of sovereign states,” he said.

The Russian and Chinese representatives discussed global and regional security problems.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation in thefight against international terrorism, in the military and technical sphere.

Patrushev and his Chinese colleagues have also discussed fighting against crime, terrorism and color revolutions during consultations on law, social security and public order:

“The discussion was held on the issues of bilateral cooperation between the prosecutor general’s offices, cooperation in the fight against organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration,” the Security Council’s press service said in a statement.

The representatives of the two countries also paid a special focus on information security.

“The sides confirmed determination to continue responding jointly and concertedly to the emerging threats to international, regional and national security, to improve the legislation in the area of fight against terrorism and extremism taking into consideration the analysis of national and foreign experience,” it said.

An agreement was reached on carrying out the work on a permanent basis at the level of experts and agencies of the two countries on the issues discussed during the consultations.

The Russian side was represented by the members of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Investigative Committee, the Justice Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service, the Foreign Ministry and the Security Council. China was represented by experts of the Supreme Prosecutor Office, the Foreign Ministry, the Justice Ministry, and the Ministries of State and Public Security.
