The party hoped premier David Mabuza and his colleagues would commit themselves to clean corporate governance free from political interference, provincial leader Willie Venter said in a statement.
Mabuza’s office said at the weekend the boards were disbanded following a three-day executive council lekgotla.
The lekgotla said the boards of both agencies had failed to deliver on their mandates, spokesperson Zibonele Mncwango said in a statement.
“The lekgotla has since disbanded both the boards, and has approved the process to initiate the appointment of new ones [and] ensure credibility.”
Venter said ANC cadres were appointed to both agencies without having the required skills or knowledge.
