BEIJING, April 27 (Xinhua) — Profits of China’s major industrial firms rose 11.1 percent year on year in March, widening from a 4.8 percent growth in the Jan.-Feb. period, official data showed Wednesday.

Profits of major industrial companies with annual revenues of more than 20 million yuan (about 3.1 million U.S. dollars) totaled 561.24 billion yuan in March, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

In the first three months of 2016, profits of China’s major industrial firms rose 7.4 percent year on year to 1.3 trillion yuan.
