South Africa will start a procurement process for 2 500 megawatts of additional coal generation electricity capacity next month, says Energy Minister Ben Martins.
Martins said in a statement that the department of energy would also look at procuring 800 megawatts of co-generation power from this month as it strives to boost power supply and prevent blackouts.
