Russia’s steel production decreased 2.7% to 68.8 million tonnes in 2013, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report seen by PRIME Friday.

Cast iron production decreased 0.3% to 50 million tonnes in 2013, while ferrous metals rolled stock production fell 1.7% to 57.9 million tonnes. Steel pipe output rose 3.5% to 10 million tonnes in 2013.

Coal mining in Russia fell 2.9% to 347 million tonnes last year, while metallurgy coke output slipped 3.4% to 26 million tonnes.
