Russia’s foreign trade surplus in January 2014 reached $17.7 billion, or up by 2.8% as against January 2013, the Ministry of Economic Development said in its monthly report on Friday.

Russia’s exports in January totaled $39.4 billion, or up by 1.4% as compared to January 2013 and down by 19.8% as against December 2013.

Imports amounted to $21.7 billion, or up by 0.2% comparing to January 2013 and down by 34.9% as against December 2013.
