Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak will meet with his Emirati counterpart Suhail Mazrouei on Friday in St. Petersburg, a ministry source told RIA Novosti.

No further details of the meeting are available yet.

On Thursday, Mazrouei and Russian Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexander Tsybulskiy led a session of a Russian-Emirati working group on regional and investment cooperation.

Earlier this month, Mazrouei said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will participate in the meeting of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members and non-OPEC oil producing states that is scheduled to be held on April 17 in the Qatari capital of Doha.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is OPEC’s fourth largest oil producer after Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Iran. In February, Mazrouei said that the United Arab Emirates was open to cooperating with other oil-producing countries to stabilize the global market.
