MOSCOW, March 28./ITAR-TASS/. The 2nd Russian-Swiss innovation forum will be held in Moscow in October, Russia’s State Duma lower house of parliament lawmaker has said.

“The Russian-Swiss innovation forum will gather about 300 businessmen, scientists, specialists in education and medicine. The forum will take place within the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Switzerland,” the chairman of the lower house committee for industry Vladimir Gutenev said on Friday.

The forum will be the major economic event of the jubilee year. It is organised by the lower house’s group for cooperation with the Swiss parliament and the Business Council for Cooperation with Switzerland of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said.

The forum is expected to focus on “clean technology”, energy saving and energy efficiency, industrial and domestic waste disposal, Gutenev said.

Special attention will be riveted to innovation in medicine, he said.

There are big prospects for developing technological partnership: training personnel for innovation, cooperation between higher education institutions and joint projects in innovation, he said.

New contracts will be signed. Russia’s state corporations such as Rosatom and Rostech will present innovation projects. “These events make contribution to Russia’s image,” Gutenev said.
