KUALA LUMPUR, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Creation of a free trade zone between Russia and Israel was not suspended and continues.

“There were no negative signals on Israeli vector. I believe that there will be none of them,” Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexei Likhachev told Itar-Tass.

Meanwhile, he noted that Russia called for an agreement to be comprehensive. “Certainly it is very important for us not only to lift barriers in commodity trade, but to integrate the market of services in this liberalization promoting investments mutually as well. We want to go on the path of this comprehensive agreement,” the deputy minister noted.

A joint research group has been launched recently to study prospects of creating a free trade zone between the Customs Union states (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) and Israel.

Upon results of their work experts will present a special report and recommendations on the basis of which it may be decided to launch talks on a free trade zone between the Customs Union states and Israel.
