India intends to bring in policies which will ease the way for large foreign investments in the oil and gas sector.

Addressing the World Petroleum Congress in Moscow on Tuesday, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stressed on the need to increase the production of oil and natural gas in the country and to hasten the pace of domestic exploration and production.

An official release issued in New Delhi quoted Pradhan, as saying India today consumes 4.5% of the world’s primary energy, and hence, it is imperative that all steps are taken to facilitate the availability of energy for every single person to ensure inclusive growth.
