161 agreements to the amount of nearly 1.6 trillion rubles ($24.5 bln) are expected to be signed at the Eastern Economic Forum, press service of the Far East Development Ministry told TASS on Wednesday.

“161 agreements to the amount of about 1.6 trillion rubles ($24.5 bln) are planned for signing at the second Eastern Economic Forum,” the press service said.

A number of agreements will be related to creation of new production facilities in the region, Minister of Far East Development Alexander Galushka told TASS.

“For example, an agreement to build a mineral fertilizers plant in Primorsky Region with investments totaling 370.5 bln rubles ($5.7 bln) or an agreement to implement construction of a mining and processing facility on the base of Natalkinskoe goldfield worth 98.5 bln ($1.5 bln),” Galushka said.

The second Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 2-3 in Vladivostok.
