Fudan University has fully launched six new engineering innovation colleges and is expanding English-taught postgraduate programs for international students under its High-Level Open-Up Initiative.

Fudan Advancing Its New Engineering Disciplines and Offering English-taught Postgraduate Programs to Attract International Engineering Students
In recent years, Fudan University has been vigorously advancing its new engineering disciplines. In 2025, six new engineering innovation colleges were fully launched, building a comprehensive innovation system spanning basic research-technological development-industrial transformation. They are the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, College of Future Information Technology, College of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, College of Smart Materials and Future Energy, College of Biomedical Engineering, College of Integrated Circuits & Micro-Nano Electronics. Aiming to cultivate world-leading high-end talent in the field of artificial intelligence, these colleges assemble top teachers, international core courses, opportunities of innovation and entrepreneurship training to provide a highly enriching academic environment for students and young researchers.
These 6 colleges started enrolling undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fall of 2025, including both Chinese and international students. In the meantime, in order to break down the language barrier for international students, three of these colleges, the College of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, the College of Future Information Technology, College of Intelligent Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing, are also offeringEnglish-taught postgraduate programs to break down the language barrier for international students. These English-taught programs include master and PhD programs in Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Scientific Computing, Intelligent Materials and Structures, Big Data and Data Science, Intelligent Software Engineering and Systems, Intersection of Computer Theory and Frontiers, Electronic Information, Micro and Nano Electronic Devices and Circuits, Intelligent Electronics and Systems, etc.Fudan will continue to expand more English-taught programs in science and engineering, which is part of its High-Level Open-Up Initiative to attract more international students and scholars and to improve the internationalization of the university.
