Dilma Outlines Paths for NDB’s Second Decade: More Resources, National Currencies, and Technology

At the XVIII BRICS Summit in New Delhi, NDB President Dilma Rousseff presented the bank's main guidelines for its second decade.
She said the NDB should mobilize resources at a larger scale to increase its impact on development in the Global South.
According to Dilma, almost 46% of financing approved by the NDB in 2025 was denominated in the currencies of member countries.
The bank plans to expand its financial instruments, including trade finance, partnerships, co-financing, and guarantees.
Technology and innovation will be central to the new strategy, with cooperation among BRICS countries in digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The NDB will broaden financing for climate action, clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, water, transport, and energy transition.
Dilma said expansion of NDB membership is crucial to strengthen the bank's financial reach and support developing countries.
