Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the 18th BRICS summit in New Delhi that China will host the next BRICS summit.
The 18th BRICS summit is chaired by India, which holds the group's presidency for 2026 under the theme of resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.
China has hosted three previous BRICS summits over the past two decades, contributing to the expansion of cooperation and representation of the Global South.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said BRICS is an important framework for countries of the Global South and praised India's presidency and practical cooperation projects.
El-Sisi highlighted BRICS efforts to reform the international financial architecture, strengthen the New Development Bank, and adopt its 2027-2031 strategy.
El-Sisi said Egypt is developing a grain and logistics center to support food security and regional trade, and expressed Egypt's aspiration to chair BRICS in the near future.
On the summit sidelines, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed support for de-escalation and regional stability.
