PM Modi said BRICS countries represent about 50% of the world's population, 40% of global GDP, and more than 25% of global trade.
He said combined BRICS GDP has grown about 4.5 times over recent years, compared with about 2.5 times growth in global GDP.
Modi said BRICS nations are emerging as important centers for global innovation and solutions, from grassroots initiatives to advanced technologies.
India's BRICS presidency theme is 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,' with India hosting the 18th BRICS Summit.
India said it has diversified supply chains and signed free trade agreements with about 40 countries since 2014.
PM Modi highlighted India's Unified Payments Interface, saying 50% of the world's real-time payments use this technology.
During India's BRICS presidency, cooperation networks were launched in areas such as agriculture, health, skills, and smart grids, including the BRICS Incubator Network, BRICS MSME Portal, and BRICS Startup Innovation Fund.
