Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary hailed the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, held under India’s presidency, and said the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration reflected India’s rising global influence.
He welcomed member countries’ consensus on multilateralism, international cooperation, and a more representative global order, including support for permanent UN Security Council membership for India and Brazil.
He noted the BRICS countries’ condemnation of the April 22, 2025, terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, and their call for action against terrorism, terror financing, and safe havens.
He cited summit concerns over declining global trade, supply-chain disruptions, unilateral sanctions, and the need for World Trade Organisation reform.
He highlighted commitments on peaceful use of space, preventing an arms race in outer space, and cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, quantum technology, and innovation.
He stressed sustainable development, poverty eradication, energy security through renewable, nuclear and hydrogen sources, and a just energy transition.
He said Bihar’s traditional sattu and makhana received international recognition during the summit.
