Vladimir Putin said complementarity of BRICS member economies is one of the main, not yet fully used reserves for the grouping's development.
He stated that differences in economic structure and specialization create opportunities for practical cooperation, new production chains, technologies, services and markets.
Putin described BRICS as a powerful driving force for strengthening genuine multilateralism in international relations.
He noted that BRICS countries continue to strengthen domestic markets and develop industrial, technological, financial and scientific-educational potential.
Putin said BRICS states have growing populations and are building modern transport, energy and digital infrastructure.
He earlier said BRICS countries continue to strengthen cooperation in security, policy, economy, finance, culture and humanitarian areas.
At the BRICS Business Council, Putin said BRICS states produced more than 40% of global GDP over the past five years, compared with about 29% for the G7.
